AFC Ajax Coaches Tour

The Ajax Youth Academy is one of a kind!

It is unique, because of its culture and proven history of success and player development. Moreover, the soccer philosophy, the facilities, the innovative approach and the staff are unmatched in the world of sports. There is a consistent style of playing and training, with attainable progressions from one age-group to the next.

The Ajax soccer style is: dominant, fast, technical, attacking, and exciting, preferably on the opponent’s half. Many stars from the Ajax Youth Academy like Johan Cruyff, Marco van Basten, Frank Rijkaard, and Dennis Bergkamp have had an impact on Dutch soccer, not only as a player but also as trainer/coach.

In addition, the following players from the Ajax Youth Academy played for the Dutch national team during the 2010 World Cup: Maarten Stekelenburg, Gregory van der Wiel, Johnny Heitinga, Rafael van der Vaart, and Wesley Sneijder.

The Ajax Youth Academy offers programs for youths (ages 9-19), trainer/coach and program directors, head of youth programs, and directors of coaching. Develop your coaching skills with Ajax!

Course information

From March 1-4, 2012 the official Ajax Youth Academy organizes an International Coaches Symposium for coaches and soccer lovers from all over North America. The symposium content is designed by Ajax and all elements in the course are updated to the latest training and coaching principles. Should you be interested, do not hesitate to register in time because space is limited!

Course level

The level of the course is comparable with UEFA B- (Basic) Course, with some elements of A- and Pro-level (especially the analysis of Pro-matches and special topics are on the highest level). Participants in this course will receive a Certificate of Participation. There will be no formal testing on knowledge and skills and coaches do not receive a diploma, due to the different entrance levels of the participants and the specific and non-comparable contents of this program in relation to other coaching programs.

Who can participate? Participants must have:
  • A minimum level of coaching (youth) teams
  • Knowledge of coaching soccer
