Great Traditions

Incredible history, and the home of soccer. Those are the only two reasons you need to visit this country. England’s history is cultural and architectural: Windsor Castle, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Stratford-on-Avon, Cambridge and Oxford. The sporting history is just as rich: Wimbledon tennis, Ascot horse races, Henley regatta. Of course England, the birthplace of soccer, is also home to the legendary FA Cup finals.

LondonThe London Bridge - Soccer Travel Destination
London is justifiably world famous for its majestic buildings, pomp, ceremony and history dating back thousands of years. There is so much to do in London! Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, Piccadilly Circus, the London Eye, Madame Tussaud’s, Tower Bridge, dozens of museums and art galleries, Trafalgar Square, Marble Arch, Hyde Park, Greenwich, the underground, the Tower of London. And don’t forget that Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspurs and Arsenal are only a stone’s throw away.

ChesterChester, England - Soccer Travel Destination
Historic Chester, dating back more than 2000 years to Roman times, is an excellent choice as a base for exploring Northwest England and North Wales. En route to Chester, stop at world-famous Old Trafford Stadium, home of Manchester United. Enjoy the museum and stadium tour, followed by a visit to the United megastore; then dine in the Red Café. Liverpool is an easy 30-minute ride from your Chester hotel. Memorable excursions include Anfield, home of Liverpool F.C., and The Cavern, birthplace of the Beatles and the start of their Magical Mystery Tour.

York
York, England - Soccer Travel Destination
Historic York dates back to Roman times. Today, millennia later, much of its Roman architecture remains intact. There is a near-limitless supply of things to do in York, but our favorites include the Ghost Detective Tour of York, an evening visit to its “darkest streets”; Castle Howard, an enormous palace and home of “Brideshead Revisited”, and the Legion Bathhouse, underground remains of York’s Roman baths.

CardiffCardiff, Wales - Soccer Travel Destination
Wales evokes images of Druids, Celtic Warriors and, more recently, a tradition for Rugby, the national sport. But, since the development of the Millennium Stadium (for the Rugby World Cup 1999), the resurgence of the Welsh soccer team, and the move of the English F.A. Cup Finals to the new stadium, soccer in Wales is re-gaining its popularity. Therefore, Cardiff is a perfect base for soaking up Welsh hospitality.
