arsenal_1.pngLocated at the magnicent Royal Holloway College campus which is situated in the picturesque Surrey countryside. The fairy-tale like Founders Building was opened by Queen Victoria and provides an incredible backdrop to the event. A few miles away is Windsor Castle, one of the Queens Official Residences which is teams visit during their stay. The sights and sounds of London are only a short distance by train or motor coach. Groups can pick and choose the day trips between the local theme parks (Legoland, Thorpe Park and Chessington World of Adventure) and other places of interest include Hampton Court Palace, Stratford-Upon-Avon, Warwick Castle, Bath, the Cotswolds and Stonehenge. Visits to Emirates Stadium home of the Arsenal Football Club can also be arranged. All the games are played on the campus grounds on top quality playing surfaces in what has become one of the premier soccer tournament in the UK.

A) Under 19 - Born between September 1, 1989 and August 31, 1992

B) Under 17 - Born between September 1, 1991 and August 31, 1994

C) Under 16 - Born between September 1, 1992 and August 31, 1995

D) Under 15 - Born between September 1, 1993 and August 31, 1996

E) Under 14 - Born between September 1, 1994 and August 31, 1997

F) Under 13 - Born between September 1, 1995 and August 31, 1998

G) Under 12 - Born between September 1, 1996 and August 31, 1998

H) Under 11 - Born between September 1, 1997 and August 31, 2000

 

Remarks

** Please note all of the above categories play 11-a-side (11 vs. 11).

·          Each team plays a minimum of 4 games.

·          Teams must be affiliated to the local soccer association and must submit permission to travel permit.

·          Age dispensations can be granted – please ask for information. Dispensation can be given to overage players (1 year up only) i.e. team playing in the U16 can have dispensation for players that come into the U17 age bracket only, no older.  Only 2 overage players on the pitch at one time.

·          All matches are played in the afternoon/ early evenings on Monday – Friday and all day on Saturday and Sunday.  Groups have free use of the fields for training and coaching during the nine days of the Festival when there are no tournament matches being played.

·          All tournament 11 a-side matches have 3 officials.  All teams are guaranteed a minimum of 4 games of I hour duration, except in exceptional circumstances.

·          Teams need to bring their national flag for the opening ceremony.

·          No team will be allowed to use more than 16 players in any one game. A player who has been substituted during a match becomes a substitute and may, in turn replace another player at any time subject to the substitution being carried out in accordance with Law 3 of the Laws of Association Football. This rule applies only to teams under 11,12,13,14,15,& 16 . The older categories can use 3 substitutes per game (no rolling substitutions)

The Arsenal Festival takes place on 5-7 top quality fields right on the Royal Holloway Campus. Each field offers wonderful grass surfaces and only a short walk through the attractive university campus.

Farewell BBQ and dance party

Various social events including Disco, Karaoke, Films, Quiz Night, will take place in the evenings with a Disco/BBQ. The BBQ replaces the evening meal. These events are free to all tournament residents at Royal Holloway.

 Tourist Information

  • Due to the late start of games during the week an extensive program of sightseeing in London and England can be arranged, or you may prefer to organize coaching with you team which can also be arranged with a top quality English FA coaches.

  • Queen Victoria presided over the grand opening ceremony in 1886 of the famous for our Founder's Building, one of the most spectacular university buildings in the world . Royal Holloway's location in leafy countryside between the village of Englefield Green and the town of Egham and is just 19 miles from the centre of London. London Heathrow Airport is just 7 miles away, and trains from Egham to Waterloo, central London (and Eurostar) take just 35 minutes.

  • arsenal_2.pngLondon has the greatest concentration of major attractions in Britain and offers an amazing variety of places to visit. Visit everything from the thousands of historic exhibits at the British Museum, V&A, Natural History Museum, the Science Museum or the award-winning Imperial War Museum. London’s more famous attractions such as the British Airways London Eye and Madame Tussauds are well worth visiting plus you can always visit some of London’s top galleries and museums such as Tate Modern, Saatchi Gallery, Royal Academy of Arts and National Portrait Gallery. Open space accounts for 30% of the London area, and the city contains 143 registered parks and gardens. Just south of the River Thames is Battersea Park, featuring a Japanese Pagoda with was a gift to the nation. Or head further out to Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew where you can explore four acres of magnificent conservatories displaying plants from rainforest to desert. Most attractions are open daily from 1000-1700, although some attractions may have shorter opening hours on Sundays. Seasonal opening times also operate at attractions including, Buckingham Palace, Houses of parliament and Leeds Castle.

  • Visit Windsor Castle , an official residence of The Queen and the largest occupied castle in the world.  A royal palace and fortress for over 900 years, the Castle remains a working palace today. Visitors can walk around the State Apartments, extensive suites of rooms at the heart of the working palace; for part of the year visitors can also see the Semi State rooms, which are some of the most splendid interiors in the castle. They are furnished with treasures from the Royal Collection including paintings by Holbein, Rubens, Van Dyck and Lawrence, fine tapestries and porcelain, sculpture and armor.

  • The Arsenal Stadium Tour is regarded as one of the most exciting tourist attractions in London and the opportunity to experience behind the scenes at Emirates is a must for every true Arsenal fan. Prepare yourself for a breathtaking look inside Emirates and immerse yourself in the passion and tradition as you enter centre stage.

  • There are also many theme parks to visit (Legoland, Thorpe Park and Chessington world of adventures) and other places of interest include Hampton Court Palace, Stratford-Upon-Avon, Warwick Castle, Bath, the Cotswolds and Stonehenge which are all within easy reach of the college.

  • 8-10 teams in each age group. Two groups either 4 or 5 in each age group. Round robin format where each team plays other teams in their group. The top two teams in group qualify for the main competition. The bottom two teams go into the plate competition. The tournament is played in accordance with the rules as set by FIFA and the English Football Association.

  • There are a number of facilities available on campus for residential teams for the duration of the tournament. In close proximity to the college are a number of theme parks and places of interest which can be reached by coach or train. For more information on coach hire please contact the Golden West Sports team who will be more than happy to organize transport on your behalf.

  • Discos/Karaoke nights as well as other activities are held on campus, a farewell BBQ and disco is held on the Sunday evening. All matches are played early/late afternoon onwards Monday - Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday. Coaching sessions with the Golden West coaches can be arranged during the day.

  • All games will be officiated by three qualified referees.

  • The outfit of the players must be numbered and assigned to one player only. Every club is obliged to bring a second strip of contrasting colour.

Please note that the Arsenal Cup tournament is organized by Golden West Sports Ltd. and Euro-Sportring is not part of the organization. As a result of this, Euro-Sportring is not responsible for any part of this event. The Arsenal Cup land costs are calculated based on the exchange rate of April 17, 2010 (British Pounds vs. US Dollar). We reserve the right to recalculate in case of a different exchange rate.
