Over 160 teams from 7 different countries will be traveling to Blackpool for Easter Bank Holiday. This lively English entertainment and seaside resort serves as the venue for the Blackpool Cup, the largest junior footie tournament in England, a great success every single year. Not only because of the many nationalities meeting each other to play on the pitch – the tourist attractions are part of the fun as well! The organization arranges a discount for all teams for the major subtropical swimming paradise Sand Castle and for Pleasure Beach, the immensely popular theme park with one of the most spectacular roller coaster rides in the world. General dispensations: • All categories: 3 players born on or after 1st September of the year before. • B19/18: The tournament organizer has granted dispensations for teams from Switzerland, Belgium and Luxemburg: all players born on/after January 1, 1989, teams from Italy: 5 players born on/after January 1, 1989, teams from USA: all players born on/after August 1, 1989.
Accommodation/Sports facilities
The Blackpool Cup takes place in the southern part of the town on well used council pitches and the sports park of Blackpool Mechanics FC. The games will be played on 14 grass fields. Furthermore there is a tournament center with a marquee, a club house with a canteen, various buffet stands for snacks and beverages and a limited number of dressing rooms. There is also a restaurant very close to the tournament complex. The fields are council fields and they receive considerable wear and tear throughout the season. Teams should be aware that in places these fields may be in less than perfect condition.
