If necesary, a few artificial fields in the direct area will be used. And Barcelona? The bus or train gets you there no time. A visit to Nou Camp, the home stadium of FC Barcelona, is, of course, an absolute must!

Touristic Information:

  • Barcelona (1.700.000 inhabitants). Who doesn't know the great attractions of this beautiful Olympic city? If not, go for it, because Barcelona is truly a unique city. You will need more than a day to explore the center. Nevertheless you can catch the spirit if you follow the following program: the Sagrada Familia - one of the landmarks of Barcelona, the cathedral by Gaudi with a bizarre architecture, Plaza de Cataluña and the Ramblas ‑ the heart of the city full of shops, restaurants and terraces, the gothic quarter with its narrow, picturesque alleys, the Mount Juic ‑ the mountain right in the center with the Olympic facilities, castle and attraction park plus of course a magnificent view over the city and the sea, Plaza España ‑ the square with the famous fountains and beautiful palaces.

  • Salou (9.000 inhabitants) is about 1½ hour by bus from Barcelona. It is a harbour, already known from the time of the Greek colonists, but also a very popular tourist center, situated at both sides of a small, rocky peninsula. Near Salou is situated Port Aventura, after Disneyworld Europe’s most famous theme park (in July open until 12:00pm).

  • Montserrat is a beautiful, old and strange mountain, 10 km long and 1236 meters high, at approx. a 1½ hour driving time by bus. At 775 meters it offers the most famous monastery in Catalonia that can be reached by rack-railway. The monastery is also famous because of the choir of its music school, the Escolania. The complex also includes among others a museum with mainly Italian and Spanish (Picasso, El Greco) painters. Moreover you can find here restaurants, souvenir shops and different cable cars which bring the people higher up the mountain, offering breathtaking views.

  • Stadium visit of F.C. Barcelona. A visit to this impressive Nou Camp Stadium is the climax for the real soccer fan. You are warmly welcome for a visit (entry fee: approx. € 11.00 for adults and € 8.50 for U13).

  • Sitges and Vilafranca del Penedes (about ¾ hour by bus from Barcelona). Sitges is one of the most famous tourist resorts of the Costa Daurada, the coast south of Barcelona. It has about 13.000 inhabitants and had once the name “Cannes of Catalunya”. In summer it is crowded by tourists and it is a nice experience to walk through the numerous small streets, full of shops (many art-items), bars, restaurants and night clubs. Vilafranca del Penedes is famous for its wine, often with a high alcohol percentage, from its surrounding hills.
