This is also the ultimate location for many football fans to hold an international football tournament. Many football clubs have been lured to the Spanish coast for a number of years through the efforts of Euro-Sportring. Celebrated seaside resorts such as Lloret de Mar, Calella, Blanes and Malgrat de Mar attract literally hundreds of football clubs from all over Europe, providing them with the opportunity to combine the enjoyment of international football in the close proximity of the beach. Sports facilities Tournaments are held on a large sporting complex close to the popular seaside resort of Blanes. Facilities include 13 grass field, laid out in terraces, on by far the largest sporting complex in Spain. Remarks
The referee committee of the Catalonia Football Association actively supports the organisation committee. During the tournament all games in all categories are directed by federal referees under the authority of the Federació Catalana de Futbol. Linesmen are provided for the finals. Teams must provide their own linesmen up to the finals. Program Be prepared for a stay full of attractions when visiting the Copa Maresme. The group matches will be planned in a compact schedule, so that the participating guests will have time to enjoy the numerous attractions in the area and of course a visit of the beautiful city of Barcelona and its famous Nou Camp football stadium! The tournament will start on Tuesday morning the preliminary games with an official welcome ceremony with flagparade in the afternoon. In the evening the group leaders will be welcomed at a get-together with free drinks and snacks in the cosy club La Masia in Tordera, for an attractive music and show programme. On Wednesday evening there will be a meeting of all participants in a disco, also with music and show. The last group matches and classification rounds will be played on Thursday. On Friday all attention will be focused on the finals, followed immediately by a prize giving ceremony, at the pitches. Monday June 13 Arrival Spain. Tuesday June 14 Tournament - group matches and opening ceremony. Wednesday June 15 Tournament - group matches. Thursday June 16 Tournament group matches and/or qualifying rounds and sightseeing Barcelona including a visit to Nou Camp Stadium, home of FC Barcelona. Friday June 17 Tournament - classification matches and finals. Awards ceremony. Saturday June 18 Return flight. |
