Touristic information
-
Cesenatico (approx. 20.000 inhabitants) is situated on the Adriatic Coast, about 25 km north of Rimini. It has an old historical center with some monuments dating from the Roman Republic. Very characteristic is its harbor, originated in 1314 because of the urgent need of Cesena to create an outlet for its own trade. The harbor became the center point around which the village expanded, first for fishing and trade, then as a well known seaside resort.
-
Rimini (130,000 inhabitants), bordering on the northern part of Riccione, is the largest seaside resort on the Adriatic coast. The city shows two different faces. The old center, west of the rail road, with its roman and medieval monuments, such as the Arch of August, the Tiberius Bridge and the castle of Malatesta. On the other side of the rail road you will find the attractive new city with about 15 kilometres beautiful beaches, numerous hotels, restaurants, shopping centers and a promenade with all one may expect in a topper of sun tourism. In Rimini you can find a lot of attractions as the “Delfinario” (dolphin shows) and Fabilandia (amusement park) for the younger participants. Other items (Mirabilandia and Italia in Miniatura) are mentioned separately. Interesting discotheques are Carneby (Rimini-Sud) and La Dolce Vita/Mathilda (Rimini-Nord/Viserba).
-
Science fiction show. In the disco l'Altro Mondo in Rimini you will live the future of amusement. This discotheque with a unique science fiction setting is light years forward. A full universion in lasers and music holophonic. It's the only one in Europe: to dance and to make spectacle (a different one for every night).
-
Ravenna (137,000 inhabitants), situated about 28 km north of Cesenatico. It is a typical Italian “province” town with a very old and cosy center. The town is famous for its splendid monuments from the Middle Ages and especially because of the mosaics.
-
San Marino (approx. 25 kilometres from Cesenatico) is a miniature state in the foothills of the Apennines. It is famous for its spectacular position on top of a bare rock (Monte Titano), where you already can see from a lomg distance the three castles, dominating the "capital". The center of San Marino, of which you can have breathtaking views on the surroundings, is especially attractive because of its small alleys with numerous shops, taverns and pizzerias/restaurants.
-
Mirabilandia (Ravenna, approx. 20 km from Cesenatico), Romagna’s larger than life fun park. A place dedicated to laughter in Italy’s most welcoming region. 400,000 square meters of refreshing green areas filled with exciting and unique attractions. Five areas, the magical lands of Mirabilandia, are waiting to be discovered. Within each area theatres, shops, restaurants and ice-cream parlors. For instance discover, Sierra Tonante, the largest white-knuckle roller coaster in Europe, or highways made of water to race down in Custom Cadillacs and the twisting white water rapids of the Grand Canyon in Rio Bravo, or be a star for a day or relive the legendary 60’s in the Dolce Vita Studios. At Mirabilandia there is only one entrance fee for all the attractions. And once you have your ticket, you will take off for an adventurous journey in a fantasy world created for the family, the kids, the toddlers, and for all those who would have liked to have never grown up or those who just want to feel young for a day. Admission fee Euro 14.00 per person.
-
Italia in Miniatura (Rimini). An unforgettable itinerary through more than 270 architectural and scenic wonders, in a lively, evocative scenario. Perfect 1:25 and 1:40 scale replicas of monuments, ancient castles, famous piazzas, mountains, seas and lakes. From ancient times to the present day. Venice for instance is a perfect reconstruction and only 5 times smaller than the real thing! Navigate the Grand Canal, passing by 119 splendid Palaces; go for a stroll in St. Mark’s Square to take a close look at the magnificent Basilica. But don’t forget the other attractions: Arcobaleno, the monorail; Canoe, Europe’s biggest flume ride; and the story of Pinocchio for the little ones. And then…. go-karts, bumper boats, mini cars, game rooms and a playground area. Last, but not least, in the summer, entertainment will take place in the fascinating Piazza Italia Show Arena, a miniature version of Piazza Santa Croce in Florence.
- Waterpark Atlantica. A swimming paradise with a great variety of different slides, where you can have fun the whole day. Atlantica is opposite to the check-in point on arrival day. During the week you can enter the park with a 50% discount, showing the special coupon, that will be hand over to the teamleaders at arrival.
