Dernelle Mascall is a Trinidad and Tobago National Women's Soccer midfielder. Dernelle was born in the small rural village of Moruga, located in the Southern part of Trinidad. Coming from a modest background, Dernelle was able to make her way to bigger things by playing soccer. She achieved great success in soccer, breaking records at the University of West Florida, and still holds the record as all-time goals and points leader; played 2 seasons in Iceland. She has represented Trinidad and Tobago at youth and Senior levels for more than a decade and has amassed more than 30 caps with 18 goals. Because of her roots, she is very committed to giving back to her community. She, with some support from family and friends, started a soccer academy - called the Mascall Football Academy - for kids in this rural community. Premier International Tours is committed to help Dernelle with her cause by organizing soccer clinics for the academy and donating money when each group visits her Academy. Her motto is “Giving children and youth a sense of belonging through empowerment and mentorship”.
Dernelle mentioned “soccer is one sport that acts as a vehicle to success for children and youths alike, to propel them to accomplish their dreams. Moruga is home to a plethora of talent, and it is on this premise that the Mascall Football Academy was formed. We here at the Mascall Football Academy are happy to have Premier International Tours as our 'fairy God mother' making the dreams of our kids come through. Their generous donations; equipment and occasional clinics from visiting teams has helped with the holistic development of our kids. Thanks to Premier International Tours for assisting us as we empower our youths”.
