After a week in Spain Team Elmhurst has returned home! Team Elmhurst competed in the Copa Mediterraneo in Tordera close to Barcelona with 2 teams. The boys team competed very well and the girls team lost in the finals 1 to 2 after a great run (they didn’t give up a single goal until the finals!) Over all Team Elmhurst finished the tournament in a very impressive fashion.
Off the field Team Elmhurst had the opportunity to visit the Sagrada Familia, the sacred mountain of Montserrat, Camp Nou – home of FC Barcelona, Blanes Beach, a town just north of Barcelona on the coast, and the beautiful city of Girona. Not only did they get an international soccer experience but they got to see Spanish Culture at its finest.
Karsten Roy, the Director of Coaching for Team Elmhurst said; "We all had a great time on the Barcelona Spain trip! We are definitely excited to partner with such a great company in Premier International Tours. The Premier International Tours staff great to work with and have provided our teams with great experiences both on and off the field. Not only playing against teams from other countries but the sightseeing parts of the trips have been great. We had a chance to visit Venice, Italy, San Marino, Camp Nou (Barcelona Soccer Stadium), Sagrada Familia (Barcelona) to name a few. These are once in a lifetime trips for our players and families at TESC."
