1. Where does the Donosti Cup take place?​

The Donosti Cup takes place in and around the city of San Sebastián, Spain. Matches are held on various sports fields throughout the city, with the finals being played at the Reale Arena, the stadium of the La Liga team Real Sociedad. San Sebastián is located on the picturesque Bay of Biscay near the French border and is known for its rich cultural scene.


2. When does the Donosti Cup take place?

The Donosti Cup takes place from July 7-12, 2026. The tournament typically takes place during the first or second week of July every year, perfect for American teams to attend during their summer school breaks.

3. What age groups and genders can play at the Donosti Cup?

Boys U19-U18 and Girls U10-U18.

4. What is the cost to attend the Donosti Cup?

​

To go to the Donosti Cup, the price per person package starts at $2,300.00. This package includes round-trip airfare, accommodation in a school classroom, tournament registration, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and a private bus and tour assistant will be available exclusively for your group. Teams and families can upgrade to a 3 or 4-star hotel.

5. How many teams play in the Donosti Cup?

The Donosti Cup features around 900 teams from over 30 countries including Spain, the United States, France, Mexico, Germany, and Brazil, making it the biggest international youth tournament in Spain.

6. Where do teams stay during the Donosti Cup?

​​​​

Teams participating in the Donosti Cup stay in schools or hotels located in or maximum 10 miles from, the city center of San Sebastian. School classroom accommodation offers teams a budget-friendly option and offers more time for players to be together during the tournament. Teams, parents, and other supporters will always have the option to stay in a hotel.

7. Why should my teams choose the Donosti Cup?

The Donosti Cup is the biggest tournament in Spain and the opening ceremony and finals of the tournament take place in the stadium of the local Spanish pro team, Real Sociedad. San Sebastian is known for its’ great beaches and great food; there is over 3 Michelin rated restaurants in San Sebastian alone and San Sebastian has the most Michelin stars per capita in the world. Although tournament games take place across multiple fields in and around the San Sebastián area, one of the highlights is the bus transfer to and from the matches, which offers scenic views of rolling hills, mountains, and beautiful beaches along the route. 8. What are sightseeing options while participating in the Donosti Cup?

While participating in the Donosti Cup, teams can enjoy sightseeing options in San Sebastian that include the scenic Paseo de la Concha beachfront promenade, exploring the charming Old Town with its famous pintxos bars, and visiting the historic Monte Urgull hill with its Castillo de la Mota fortress. Other highlights include the San Sebastián Aquarium, the Monte Igueldo amusement park offering panoramic views, the beautiful Miramar Palace gardens, and a ferry ride to the small Santa Clara Island in the bay. The city also offers cultural experiences in museums like the San Telmo Museum and beautiful landmarks such as the Basilica de Santa María del Coro and the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd. San Sebastian, based on its close proximity to the French border, provides teams with the chance to sightsee in France, including visiting glamorous sea-side beach resorts like Biarritz or Saint-Jean-de-Luz.
