Aruba

Aruba is a 20 mile long island of the Antilles in the southern Caribbean Sea, located 17 miles north of the coast of Venezuela. Together with Bonaire and Curaçao, it forms a group referred to as the ABC islands. Its capital is Oranjestad. Unlike much of the Caribbean region, Aruba has a dry climate and an arid, cactus-strewn landscape. This climate has helped tourism as visitors to the island can reliably expect warm, sunny weather. It lies outside the hurricane belt.

Premier International Tours is a proud partner of the AVB (Arubaanse Voetbal Bond) which is the Aruban Soccer Federation. Soccer at Aruba is a very popular sport with more than 60 registered clubs and a total of more than 10,000 players. Next to the AVB headquarters, a brand new artificial field is available for games and training. The 2nd floor of the AVB headquarters offer dormitory type of accommodation where teams can stay, meet and eat. It is a perfect environment for a season preparation.

Oranjestad ("Orangetown") is the capital and largest city of Aruba. Oranjestad is located on the southern coast near the western end of the island country. In the local language, Papiamento, Oranjestad is often referred to simply as "Playa". The city was built around Fort Zoutman shortly after it was built in 1796 . The town has been the capital city of the island. The fort is still one of the town's attractions, others being the tax-free harbor and the Willem III Tower, located near the fort.

The Aruban beaches are beautiful. Palm Beach is one of the most famous beaches, northwest of Oranjestad. It is home to the high rise hotels and a new shopping district that was finished in 2009. Since the boom in the tourism industry several five-star hotels have opened in the area and some upscale malls and shopping centers have been developed.
