The Gothia Cup, Sweden

The Gothia Cup is an international soccer tournament that since its beginning in 1975 has grown to over 1,700 teams representing more than 70 countries. The opening ceremony at Ullevi Stadium attracts 50,000 spectators and international soccer participants, while 1,100 volunteers guarantee that this will remain the international soccer tournament of all international soccer tournaments! First-class international soccer competition on first-class soccer fields is only part of this great festive week.

Located on Sweden's beautiful west coast, Gothenburg offers all the excitement of a major seaport city. It's known for its Dutch-style canals and leafy boulevards like the Avenyn, the city's main thoroughfare, lined with many cafes and shops. Liseberg is a popular amusement park with themed rides, performance venues and a landscaped sculpture garden.

Each year we book many teams with the Gothia Cup. Hassan Nazari of the Dallas Texans Soccer Club, one of Premier International Tours’ most loyal customers mentioned “I have been working with Premier International Tours and participating at the Gothia Cup since the mid 90’s. Together we have organized tournaments, camps as well as international soccer travel for our teams and coaches to countries such as Spain, Italy, Sweden, Aruba, the Netherlands and Denmark. When I think about Premier International Tours the following words come to my mind: very organized, reliable and trustworthy. If you have not experienced the Gothia Cup, you MUST. It will change your perspective in every way regarding the game and the world."

From the Gothia Cup staff: “Premier International Tours organized American teams to come to the tournament already since early 80’s, and has brought thousands of American youngsters to the Gothia Cup. They are always well organized and informed about their teams. All the teams that have been coming with Premier International Tours have always shown outstanding behavior both on and off the playing fields”.
