Continental FC has returned home from their 2017 international tour!
Continental FC has returned home from their 2017 international tour! Continental FC participated in the 2017 IberCup USA in Dallas, TX and ended up winning their age category. As a result of being IberCup USA Champions they won a travel discount to participate in the IberCup Estoril in Portugal. While competing in IberCup Estoril they faced off against RC Joinville D – France, CF Os Belenenses J – Portugal, Benfica EF Estádio – Portugal, and GD Estoril Praia– Portugal in the group stages.
After advancing to Playoff A they went up against Turf City FC – Singapore and FC Francoville – France to advance to the final. In Continental’s final game of the tournament they competed against CF Os Belenenses J from Portugal to win and return to the U.S. as IberCup Estoril Champions! Aside from their huge success on the field they also had the opportunity to go sightseeing during their week in Portugal and experience the culture of a new country. This team experience a once in a life time trip, travelling to Portugal and playing against some of the most prestigious clubs in Europe and winning, as well as getting the chance to experience another culture different to their own. Continental FC was featured in one of Philadelphia’s top sports publications, SB NATION, after their accomplishments at the prestigious IberCup Estoril.
