Inside the 2026 Gothia Cup: Premier International Tours' Staff on Site in Gothenburg

The Gothia Cup is the largest youth soccer tournament in the world, with over 1,900 teams in attendance from 70+ countries, and a full week of competition spread across Gothenburg, Sweden. For every team Premier International Tours brought to this year's tournament, our staff was there in person from the moment groups landed to the final departures, making sure their experiences ran as smoothly on the ground as they did on paper.

Support From the Moment You Arrive

Once our teams arrived in Gothenburg, our staff made a point of visiting every one of our traveling teams at their matches throughout the week, not just to watch, but to check in, see how things were going, and make sure nothing was needed on our end. If a team needed something, whether it was a schedule question, a transportation adjustment, or just a familiar face in the stands, we wanted to be the ones solving it, not the coaches. That same hands-on approach started well before kickoff. Our staff assisted teams directly with checking in at their hotels and host schools, working through the logistics so coaches could focus on their players instead of paperwork and room assignments. It's a small thing on the surface, but it's exactly the kind of detail that separates a smooth tour from a stressful one, and it's a big part of what "we handle the logistics so you can focus on coaching" actually looks like in practice.

Working Closely With Gothia Cup Staff

Behind the scenes, our team met with Gothia Cup staff on multiple occasions throughout the week to help secure extra meals for team staff, make last-minute roster adjustments, and arrange training sessions and friendly matches outside of the tournament. Premier International Tours has been bringing teams to the Gothia Cup for over 30 years, and so our longstanding relationship with the Gothia Cup means we can catch and resolve issues before they ever reach a coach or a team, which is exactly the value a dedicated tour operator should bring to an event of this scale.

Opening Ceremony, Leaders Party, and Championship Games

Some of the best moments of the week didn't happen on the field. Our staff was there for the Gothia Cup Opening Ceremony, one of the most electric traditions in youth soccer, with teams from around the world parading together. We also attended the Leaders Party alongside coaches and organizers from around the world, and attended the championship games to watch the tournament reach its finish. Whether cheering from the stands or coordinating behind the scenes, our team experienced the full arc of the tournament right alongside the teams we brought to Sweden.

Every team we brought to Gothenburg this year had a fantastic experience, and after decades of bringing teams to the Gothia Cup, that's exactly the standard we hold ourselves to. If your program is considering a Gothia Cup tour for 2027, feel free to reach out to our team to see what a trip like this could look like for your team.
