2026 Donosti Cup Recap: Youth Soccer Tournament Highlights from San Sebastián, Spain

The Donosti Cup is one of the premier youth soccer tournaments in Southern Europe. Each summer, the vibrant city of San Sebastián welcomes more than 900 teams from over 30 countries for a week of competition, culture, and unforgettable experiences. For this year’s tournament, Premier International Tours sent our staff to Spain to make sure every one of our groups had a successful trip both on and off the field.

Support From the Moment You Arrive

Once our teams arrived in San Sebastián, our staff made a point of visiting every traveling team at their matches throughout the week. We weren’t there simply to watch; we were there to check in, see how things were going, and make sure everything was running smoothly.

If a team needed something, whether it was a schedule question, a transportation adjustment, or simply a familiar face in the stands, we wanted to be the ones solving it, not the coaches.

That hands-on approach started well before kickoff. Our staff assisted teams with hotel and host-school check-in, working through logistics so coaches could focus on their players instead of paperwork, room assignments, and other administrative details.

It may seem like a small thing, but those details can make the difference between a smooth tour and a stressful one. This is what we mean when we say, “We handle the logistics so you can focus on coaching.”

Working Closely with Donosti Cup Staff

Behind the scenes, our team also met with Donosti Cup staff throughout the week to help secure additional meals for team staff, make last-minute roster adjustments, and arrange sightseeing excursions outside of the tournament.

Premier International Tours has been bringing teams to the Donosti Cup for nearly 20 years. That longstanding relationship gives us an important advantage: we know the event, we know the people, and we know how to solve problems quickly.

At a tournament of this size, having an experienced tour operator on the ground means issues can often be addressed before they ever reach a coach or team. That’s exactly the value a dedicated tour operator should bring to an international tournament experience.

Opening Ceremony, Leaders Party, and Championship Games

Some of the best moments of the week happened away from the field.

Our staff attended the Donosti Cup Opening Ceremony, one of the tournament’s most memorable traditions, as teams from around the world came together for the parade. We also joined coaches and organizers from across the globe at the Leaders Party and attended the championship games as the tournament reached its conclusion.

Whether we were cheering from the stands, helping behind the scenes, or simply sharing the experience with the teams we brought to Spain, our staff was there for the full journey.

Every team we brought to San Sebastián this year had a fantastic experience. After nearly two decades of bringing teams to the Donosti Cup, that’s the standard we hold ourselves to.
