In January 2026, thirty Tigers of DePauw University traveled to The Netherlands and Belgium to deepen their understanding of voetbal and its socio-cultural contexts through an examination of—and experience and practice in—the conception, design, and use of artistic, geometric, architectural, and ludic space. For two weeks, we examined artists like Avercamp, Vermeer, Van Gogh, Mondrian, Magritte and Escher; architects like Cuypers and Rietveld; and coaches/players like Michels, Cruyff, Bergkamp, Hazard, and De Bruyne. We trained at the Dutch @KNVB and Belgian @ KBVB National Team Centers, attended matches of PSV Eindhoven and Club Brugge, and visited museums, houses, castles, archaeological sites, amusement parks, public squares, and battlefields.
Finally, we studied the neurobiology of how the brain observes, learns, analyzes, and executes actions in space: getting sensory information, processing it, and enacting physical motion in response. Every step of the way, Premier International Tours provided the logistical preparation and support we needed for a successful tour. Students called it ‘eye-opening’ and ‘life-changing’. It was. This was our sixth tour with Premier International Tours and from the office staff to the drivers to top Tour Manager Anna Maria, we were thrilled. Thank you!
