The Gothia Cup 2023; a complete success!

The Gothia Cup is the #1 soccer event in Scandinavia. With 1,600 teams from all over the world plus an impressive Olympics style opening the Gothia Cup is the word “event” worthy. Located on Sweden's beautiful west coast, Gothenburg offers all the excitement of a major seaport city, as well as fine beaches, water sports, boat trips, shopping, and dining, making it a great travel destination for youth soccer teams. Premier International Tours send some of their well-trained staff members to Sweden to support the local Gothia Cup staff making sure that all Premier International Tours teams had a great time. This year our staff members Larry, Karen and Anna represented us.

Monday night an amazing opening ceremony took place in the Nya Ullevi stadium. More than 50,000 people attended a fantastic show filled with professional singers, musicians, dance, music, and spectacular fireworks.

Tournament games take place on fields in and around Gothenburg – many of them grass fields. Two major soccer complexes are Heden and Kviberg. Finals take place in the SKF Arena.

Traveling teams enjoy, in addition to the games, sight-seeing options such as a visit to Liseberg, an amusement park in the center of Gothenburg, open boat cruise along the city's canals and to the Savean River as well as a guided boat tour to the beautiful archipelago landscape. Some of our teams did very well playing in the Gothia Cup final as well as the B-play off final.
